Hello! I’m Kaitlin. I’ve lived on Vancouver Island my whole life, starting with a wonderful childhood growing up in Port Hardy. Some of my best memories from that time include exploring at Stories Beach, swimming in Keogh Lake, hiking to Cape Scott, skiing at Mount Cain, and playing in many of the forested areas surrounding my home and school.

After graduating from high school in Campbell River, I attended the University of Victoria where I received a B.A. in Sociology, with a minor in Psychology. I am fascinated with the processes by which children come to be who they are, and believe that spending time in nature only impacts those processes positively.

I moved back to Campbell River in 2012, where I currently reside with my husband, our three children and dog. I completed my Early Childhood Educator certificate at NIC in 2013 and worked in the field until having my oldest. I have spent the past 7 years caring for my own children, and a few others, in my home. With my youngest entering Kindergarten, I am so fortunate to be able to continue working with and being surrounded by children – which I feel is truly my place! Hand -In-Hand is an amazing program and I am so excited to be a part of it.
