PLANT DETECTIVES: WILD PLANT EXPLORATION & JOURNALING (CAMP 2 & 3 : This hands-on, nature-based program invites children to become “Plant Detectives” as they explore and learn to identify common wild edible plants & flowers. Using observation, touch, and guided discovery, participants will learn how to recognize key plant features and safely interact with the natural environment. Each child will create their own seasonal plant journal, collecting and preserving plant & flower samples while recording simple identification notes. The focus is on building confidence, curiosity, and a connection to the land through experience rather than memorization. The day will end with a circle time connection where children are invited to explore the plant – human connection to help them understand their needs and feelings through the magic of plants.
