In an effort to make our Early Years Programs as accessible to as many families as possible, we have created our own In-House Subsidy Fund to help low-income families register their children in our Nature Education Programs. Although we follow Island Health’s guidelines in our programs, Hand-In-Hand Nature Education does not qualify for government subsidies as currently, Island Health licenses a program’s premise (not the program itself). As Hand-In-Hand meets outside and does not have a building, we are unable to obtain licensing at this time. The HIH In-House Subsidy Fund works in much the same way the government funds work, except that we raise the funds!
