On a sunny day, head into the forest and/or onto the beach and collect traseaures of all shapes and sizes (pinecones, flowers, branches, shells, etc.). Then, place a peice of paper on a flat surface and stand up your treaures on one edge of your paper. To increase the challenge, trace your treasures and take note how their shadows move as the earth turns. This is a great activity to do at different times of the day (morning, afternoon and early evening) and watch how their shadows change throughout the day. We love playing with shadows!
