Pronouns: She/her

My family and I moved from North Vancouver to Cumberland, and have been so excited to adventure in this magnificent part of the island! I did my bachelor of Physical Education degree at the University of Victoria, and now years later I am coming back to the island, this time with my husband and two young children. As an experienced physical and outdoor educator, I have seen first hand the numerous benefits of immersing youth in nature, and also the effects that a lack of “Vitamin N” has on the well-being of today’s children and youth. My masters degree led me to explore experiential education, and how to encourage educators to include nature and outdoor education into their day to day routines. I am delighted to pass on my passion for active living in the outdoors with young children. I am at my best when I am surrounded by nature, and the thought of spending time guiding, observing, inspiring and seeing kids connect with nature at such a young age with Hand-In-Hand is a huge pleasure.
