Kites Inspired by Nature
Here is a super fun activity and a great way to play with wind!
First, find one or two small sticks in the forest to help keep your kites open. Next, draw on paper, triy to find light paper but any paper will do. After your drawing is finished, tape the sticks to the back. For string you can use colourful yarn, but anything you have at home will work. For the tail of the kite you can get creative. In the picture to the right, we used rolls of crate paper, but materials found in nature also work great…for example, a long piece of ivy or your favourite flowers tied together. If using paper doesn’t appeal to you then simply attach crate paper to the stick you found and watch it fly.
