Jason Roberts has been working as a Nature Educator and Mentor for the past 10 years. He has an inherent passion for sharing knowledge and working with people of all ages to help create a connection to the land and culture. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (English Major) from the University of Calgary and also has training as a Waldorf and Forest school teacher. He helped found Tofino Nature Kids; a program that offers year round nature immersion for children. Through the BC School board he has training as a Wild BC program workshop facilitator and has worked as an after school coordinator. He has been an Art of Mentoring participant and facilitator and has training as a Nature Connection Mentor with Wisdom of the Earth Nature School on Salt Spring as well as the Wilderness Awareness school in Duvall, Washington. He has run multiple workshops for children, teens, parents and teachers on Coyote Mentoring and how to bring nature education into the classroom. He is also a Red Seal carpenter with experience mentoring carpentry apprentices along their road to becoming Journeymen. His goal is to combine a range of practical and educational experience with a focus on nature education. His blend of compassion, enthusiasm and curiosity brings forward a mentor with intentions to make a positive contribution to the Heartwood school and community.
